Verizon was a bad choice - a rant

Unlike certain other bloggers (echem), I'm not really into the whole i-phone "thing." I like my phone to be small as possible and do 4 things; calls, texts, calendar, and alarms. Everything else I could care two mookies about. Seems simple enough, not so thanks to my friends at Verizon Wireless (though I do appreciate the high royalty rate I receive for VCast Downloads)...

Verizon Wireless has managed to replace my phone 6/7 times in the past 12 months. Why so many times you ask? They seem to enjoy replacing broken phones with... wait for it ...broken phones! One replacement phone after another was given to me pre-broken, how considerate! Finally last month I thought my never-ending hours of waiting in line at the 42nd st. verizon store tech support were over. Side note - what a generally miserable and useless staff working there. Tech support is more than happy to let you know they are not direct employees of Verizon so they could care less about your needs. Anyway, Verizon caved and gave me a brand new, out of the box, phone. One month later, alarm and calendar functions - dead. They replace the phone and three days later - you guessed it - alarm and calendar functions - dead. Not to mention, I also slept through an important morning b/c my alarm didn't go off and wake my sleepy head up.

So today I visited my friends once again and by my count, this is now phone #8 in about 12 months time. Good job Verizon (obligatory "can you hear ME now)!
